Another gutsy performance with a depleted squad, another narrow defeat. Despite going 1-0 behind to an early goal the 2's battled hard throughout the first half. Long balls through to debutant Furzan Darawalla and the ever dangerous Michael Hughes saw a couple of efforts go just wide. Meanwhile, with the midfield working hard and the defence in stubborn mood, successive Camberley attacks were thwarted till half time.
A similar pattern developed in the second half, with an increasingly frustrated Camberley committing a series of agricultural fouls on Trinity's more skilful players whilst still enjoying the bulk of possession. Eventually Trinity's resistance broke as Camberley scored a well-worked second. However despite being reduced to 10 after Beaker's forthright challenge, Trinity broke quickly and Michael Hughes finished calmly at the subsequent penalty corner. Camberley gratefully saw out the remaining minutes for a 2-1 win, but Trinity walked off exhausted yet with heads held high. All concerned could be rightly proud of their efforts.
