Colts Round-up – 31st Jan

A quick round up of the Colts games this weekend:

U12 colts won all 4 games at Epsom, only conceding 1 goal. I think my comment that “at no point did anyone annoy me” sums it up. We worked hard for each other throughout with no lack of skill or determination. Player of the day was Aman for his well timed tackles in the early matches which set the tone, and the “champagne moment” was Cameron’s clean strike to score from the top of the D. Thanks to those who sped back to Trinity to help the U14s, and well done to Sarah for managing to squeeze in a bit of shopping, buying Hay for her Guinea Pigs en route!!

U14s beat PWs 4-2 and look like a great little team. Remembering that we started the season having to field 2 or 3 U15s to compete in our matches, today’s side was pure U14 and younger playing good quality hockey and deserving their win.

U16s fielded their strongest team and although they might feel disappointed with a 2-2 draw, having led for most of the game, this was against a Reigate side that smashed us 1-8 before Christmas and we created  plenty of chances to win. Dexter (both goals) and Sam (loads of tackles) were our strongest players but there was an exceptional performance in goal from Kishen (U13) , and committed support from all areas, epitomised by James Skinner and Harry holding on to the ball against the big guys with Theo, Ewan and Isaac running all over the pitch. A great team effort.
